Pastor Rob is the husband of Jennifer (Ray) Scribner for the past 40 years. The family is now made up of five married children and three living at home. In addition, they have 12 grandchildren. “My greatest testimony is that my wife loves me and so do my children and children by marriage. We all are in the church and enjoy being with each other.” Jesus has been very good to us.”
All of the Scribner children have attended the Lighthouse School and graduated from LCA, except the two currently attending LCA. Joshua Scribner graduated from UCLA and currently is the pastor of a church in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bethany (Scribner) Neos married George Neos pastor of the church in Hesperia, CA. Jessica (Scribner) Young is a nurse at UCLA Santa Monica Emergency Room married to Joshua Young, Assisting Pastor at the Lighthouse Church. All of the universities of the children and their accomplishments are too many to list here but each is a wonderful testimony to their family but mostly to honor the influence of Jesus. (Above picture is a dedication service)

My full name is Katherine Mary Yokas Czer and I am 59 years old. I graduated with honors securing a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of Southern California in 1973. I received a multiple subject K-12 California Standard Teaching Credential in 1974. I taught for the Baldwin Park Unified School District and Culver City Unified School District a total of 10 years before and once I was married.
In 1983 I took a 20 year break to raise the 7 children born to Lawrence S.C.Czer and I. In 2003 I resumed teaching and have been privileged to be the Kindergarten teacher at the Lighthouse School since then. Herein is the desire of my heart to help raise up children to love and serve God and His people as they grow each and every day in "wisdom stature and in favor with God and man". Truly, my "Boss" is a Jewish Carpenter who happened to have spoken the "sun, moon and stars into existence on the fourth day of creation".
My not so secret hobby and skill is calligraphy. I enjoy all forms and styles of penmanship and the process of doing it. My favorite food is any and all types of vegetables. Probably the most fun and interesting fact about myself is that I was a professional clown and applied to Ringley Bros Barnum and Bailey Circus. I was denied employment, however. Thus, I decided to go to graduate school.
I do have two professional goals: to write children's books and screenplays which bring honor and glory to Christ. My favorite Bible verse quote is Colossians 3:23. "Whatever you do work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for men". I love Jesus Christ and His Word, my husband Lawrence , our children and grandchildren: Peter and Rachel, Clara and Isabella; Luke,Laurel, Andrew, Christa, Paul, Adam; and just about everybody else I know. I ardently try to practice : 1John 4:7-8.
I've attended the Lighthouse Church since I was seven years old; in 1998 I graduated from the Lighthouse Christian Academy. I want to share what God has done in my life since then.
After I graduated high school I began working at the Lighthouse Preschool, I worked their for 4 years while taking child development classes at Santa Monica College. After teaching at the preschool for 4 years I was offered a position to teach at the elementary school where I taught First grade. I enjoyed teaching and was happy to fulfill my desire and passion to work with children at the Lighthouse Elementary School.
After that God had a different direction for my life, I went on to teach at Saint John's Child Development Center and began to study Psychology at Mount Saint Mary's. I worked there for several years and then moved into the field of social work where I have been the past 5 years.
I've currently been working for the Venice Family Clinic in a federally funded program where we offer comprehensive child development services designed to improve the quality of life for young children by strengthening the family through intensive case management, parent education and parent empowerment. But I
know that only Jesus really improves our quality of life.
As I reflect back on all my experiences at the Lighthouse School from the time I was a student here in second grade through high school and then through my time teaching here, I am so grateful to be here because I know this is what works. When you put God first the way the Lighthouse does everything else falls into place.
I am a proud graduate of the Lighthouse Christian Academy and now I take even greater pride in being given the opportunity to return to teach academics through the love of Jesus the way I was taught here when I was in elementary school. Because the Lighthouse was here for me I am anxious to give back with dedication and love in the same manner I received my education from the Lighthouse 13 years ago.
Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Being here to teach at the Lighthouse has fulfilled that scripture in my life. So, I am excited to see God move in the school and in everyone's life that is involved in this ministry.
Christa Czer graduated from UCLA in June 2011 with a double major in English and Pre-Medicine. Having attended The Lighthouse School from 5th-12th grade, she is thrilled to be teaching this year.
The Lighthouse has made an impact on her life and she desires to give back to the church and school. She appreciates the way in which The Lighthouse School emphasizes Christian Character and realizes the importance of instilling good character in students.
As a college athlete, musician, and writer, Christa plans to integrate her passions into her teaching style in order to create a fun learning environment for her students. Christa is excited for her first year teaching and realizes what a great privilege it is to have the ability to impact and inspire students each day.
Her favorite Bible verse is Colossians 3:23, which says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." Christa believes that if she and her students can take hold of the truth in this scripture, it can be an awesome school year.
I had attended The Lighthouse Christian Academy from kindergarten through twelfth grade and was one of the lucky students to make the most of the opportunity. Besides the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic, I had come out of the school with, more importantly, a love of Jesus and His Word, a love of learning, the drive to perform my best at all times, and all the fun memories and life-long friendships made along the way. By using these gifts, I graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology in 2009. I have since been pursuing a career in physical therapy and have been working at a physical therapy clinic, where I work with patients of varying ages and conditions. I am excited to be teaching at my alma mater this year; and I am especially grateful for the opportunity to impart to the next generation all of the blessings this school can bring: a love of Jesus, Christian character, a love of learning, and a lot of fun memories.
Bringing her skills with a Masters in Education from Pepperdine University, Rachel Peterson excels in teaching the 7th & 8th grade classes. She says she feels called to teach at The Lighthouse Church School where she can make a difference in each child and come to know them personally.
Rachel is enthusiastic about learning and works to instill a love of learning in her students. From hands on 3-D projects to augment science units, or teaching the classics like Huckleberry Finn, Rachel brings a creative, and nurturing element to her classroom while helping the students develop critical thinking skills. She is also the junior high girls volleyball coach.
Rachel is the oldest of five children. She loves to read and loves pets, having two dogs and three cats currently. She received her undergrad degree from UCLA and is an original Lighthouse Church School and Lighthouse Christian Academy (high school) graduate.
